ABOUT

Laura Jane

Hi :)

I'm Laura Jane and I am a registered Performance Nutritionist based in Hertfordshire. After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University (now Leeds Beckett) with a BSc (Hons) in Public Health Nutrition, where I specialised in weight management and sports nutrition, I extended my education and passion to my Masters Degree in Sport & Exercise Nutrition. Since then I have continued to work in health & elite sport including working with GB & England Judo over the 2012 Olympics, South Central Junior Triathlon, and London Senior Hurlers.

Currently the Lead Academy Performance Nutritionist for Arsenal FC, where I am responsible for all players nutritional requirements, from U9 to U23. As such in my role entails providing full nutritional support, including nutrition programmes for performance enhancement, injury prevention & rehabilitation, catering guidelines & recipe development, and nutrition education. Prior to moving to Arsenal, I was the Lead Performance Nutritionist at Queens Park Rangers FC, working with both First Team and Academy. In addition I am the Lead Nutritionist for the online football focused Strength & Conditioning platform Football Strength Condition Rehab.

As a Full Registrant on the Sport & Exercise Nutrition Register, a UK Anti-Doping Accredited Advisor and a Level 1 ISAK certified Anthropometrist, I utilise all knowledge and experience to deliver tailored nutritional interventions for my clients.

I have always been passionate about nutrition, and after years of dancing, and being a bit of a cardio bunny ;) I was introduced to the world of weight lifting and resistance training. And I haven't looked back since. October 2017, I entered my first Bikini Competition where I came in 2nd, and definitely got the bug for it. With my background in nutrition I coached myself throughout my prep. Since then I have helped coach others to achieve the unique 'leaness' required to step on stage - winning some awards too.

With all of my clients I aim to increase their knowledge around food and how different macronutrients impact the body. Understanding that one type of food is not inherently good or bad, however, in terms of their individual goals, some foods may be more beneficial - whether that be enhanced endurance on the pitch or losing body fat. I love creating recipes and experimenting in the kitchen with new meals, varying the macronutrient and calorie contents to meets a range of different needs.

If you are interested in learning more about nutrition and the impact it could have on your health or goals, then don't hesitate to get in touch! Or have a look at some of the services I offer.
